Halloween Family Fun Ideas
Halloween is here and it is my (Ms. Ava's) favorite time of year! Costumes, candy, and all things creepy - I think it is so much fun. I am excited to share some ideas to have an exciting Halloween this year, even if we still can't party completely like we did pre-pandemic!
For other music therapists and educators: Check out our Dyanmic Community's Resource Round up for a ton of fun and engaging Halloween session ideas!
Music and Dance Activity Videos
We created a YouTube Playlist on our channel full of our favorite Halloween songs, dances, and interactive activity videos. Click here for the playlist link!
This playlist is the perfect thing to get kids engaged during a party, or just during your weekend with the family with no prep work or materials needed.
The playlist is structured so you can press "play" and the playlist will go through a mix of the songs, dance-a-longs, and games. You can also go through to select and watch the ones that you are interested in!
Watch a Movie
After you have oogie-boogied the night away dancing and playing the games in our YouTube Playlist, end the night with a Halloween movie. A themed movie night is always fun to share with friends or family!
Here are some of our favorites for school-aged children that all ages will love too:
Casper the Friendly Ghost
HolloweenTown
Hocus Pocus
Monster House
Para-Norman
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
And some spookier (but not too scary!) movies for tweens and teens:
Beetlejuice
Hocus Pocus
Edward Scissor Hands
Little Shop of Horrors
Young Frankenstein
We hope this posts gave you some ideas to have a fun Halloween. Even though this year we are still not 100% back to normal, we can enjoy this fun holiday the best we can!
